Wetsuits, fins and masks ready at the beach

What to wear and bring

The short version: swimsuit, towel, warm top. We hand you everything else at the beach.

We supply

  • Wetsuit in your size, from small children to XXXL
  • Mask and snorkel
  • Fins
  • Life jacket for the boat ride
  • Flotation aid if you want one
  • Lockers, change rooms and warm showers

You bring

  • Swimsuit. Wear it under your clothes when you arrive. A one-piece or snug shorts sit best under a wetsuit.
  • Towel.
  • Warm layer. A hoodie or fleece for afterwards, even in summer.
  • Sunscreen. Put it on before you suit up, and choose a reef-safe one.
  • Hat and sunglasses for the ride, with a strap if you have one.

Worth considering

  • Seasickness medicine, taken before the trip if you are prone.
  • A waterproof camera on a wrist strap. Our guide takes photos too, and they are included.
  • A rash vest under the wetsuit if you feel the cold.
  • Contact lenses instead of glasses.
  • A hair tie. Long hair under a mask strap is easier tied back.

Leave behind

  • Jewellery, especially rings and dangling earrings
  • Watches that are not rated for swimming
  • Car keys with electronic fobs in your pocket. Use the lockers.
  • Drones. Robberg is a nature reserve, and they disturb the colony.

On the seal viewing trip

You stay dry, mostly. Bring a windbreaker, sunglasses and a camera. Expect a little spray during the launch.

Ready to meet the seals?

Trips leave Central Beach at 10:00, 12:00, 14:00 every day, weather permitting. Pick a date and we will have a wetsuit waiting.
